Elia Charles, LICSW, LCSW, BCD

Elia H. Charles, LICSW, LCSW, BCD is an EMDR psychotherapist and an EMDRIA-approved consultant. She has over 17 years of experience in the field of Social Work, treating individuals with childhood trauma, grief and loss, combat trauma, sexual assault, sex/porn addiction, love addiction, and domestic violence.


She is also an International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professional (IITAP) approved Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). Ms. Charles received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Howard University, Washington, DC.


Ms. Charles began her career at the DC Child and Family Services Agency. After six and half years, she transitioned to work for the United States Army as a civilian provider, primarily working with wounded and ill service members providing behavioral health services. She continues to work with the Army as a Clinical Social Work Supervisor.

Ms. Charles received her EMDR training through the U.S. Military and has continued her training and consultation with Deany Laliotis to obtain her EMDR Certification as an EMDR Therapist and Consultant. Ms. Charles is available for individual EMDR consultation.

Jonathan J. Ward, LCSW

Mr. Ward is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Washington, DC, and Virginia. He has over 16 years of experience as a clinician. Mr. Ward specializes in working with individuals and couples to manage personal and environmental stressors, depression, anxiety, marital discord, and addiction. He also has extensive experience working with individuals and families affected by traumatic events.


Mr. Ward received his Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Services from Cornell University and my Master’s in Social Work from Howard University.


Mr. Ward utilizes various theoretical models such as Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He takes a holistic approach with individuals/couples to explore barriers impacting their communications, intimate relationship, job performance, and self-esteem.

David Lyons, LICSW

As a Clinical Social Worker, David Lyons has provided counseling services within various agencies since 2002. His work is focused on enhancing the emotional well-being of those who are experiencing combat trauma, grief and loss, domestic violence, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and childhood trauma.


His training has afforded him with the opportunity to assist individuals and families with establishing a foundation for the long-term management of their mental health needs. His goal is to create an environment that is trusting, and safe, one that facilitates the establishment of a positive and supportive therapeutic relationship.


This therapeutic alliance assists patients in being able to confront trauma in a manner that ultimately facilitates the possibility for change and promotes emotional healing within their lives. He is a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist and trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, (CPT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, (PP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (CBT), EMDR and Intimate Partner Violence, (IPV).

Patty Ansani, LICSW

Patty Ansani believes each of us has the capacity to overcome life issues and challenges by utilizing strengths. However, we sometimes need assistance working through life’s obstacles and leveraging our strengths. She can provide a safe and empathic space for healing.


Her experience includes working with individual adults and children addressing trauma, low self-esteem, relationship issues, life transitions, academic issues, anxiety, grief, and depression.


She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the District of Columbia. Maryland and Virginia. She received a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Albany. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Play Therapy, Sand tray, Solution Focus Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Michelle Glenn, LCSW-C, LICSW

Michelle Glenn, LCSW-C, LICSW, LCSW is a BIPOC clinician and EMDR psychotherapist with specialized experience in trauma-informed psychotherapy working with adults as survivors of domestic violence, complex PTSD, disruption of childhood attachment, PTSD, acute stress, mood, and anxiety disorders.


Michelle is a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia. She received a Master’s degree in Social Work in 2013 from The University of Maryland, Baltimore with a focus on clinical/direct practice. With nearly a decade of experience, she has worked as a therapist in a variety of settings: private group practice, outpatient mental health, and managed care.


Michelle is compassion-focused and provides a non-judgmental safe space where therapy is paced based on her clients' needs. She enjoys listening to music, cooking/baking creating new recipes and lives in Maryland with her husband. Her pronouns are she/her/hers.
